Application note

Application Note: Powder Pouch Format Review

A reference approach to matching powder behaviour, dose range, and packaging film with a pouch or sachet machine.

Scope and limitations

This is a technical selection example, not a named customer case. Powder packaging performance depends on the actual product and packaging material.

Powder and packaging inputs

Key inputs include powder density, flowability, dust generation, dose range, target accuracy, pouch dimensions, film structure, seal requirements, coding area, and required packs per minute. Poorly flowing powders may require agitation, special auger geometry, or a different dosing principle.

Verify with a material trial

A controlled material trial can verify dosing repeatability, seal contamination risk, and film tracking. The final scope should state the dosing system, pack format, utility standard, contact materials, cleaning method, and included format parts.

Powder flow, bulk density, aeration, target dose, allowable variation, dust, container opening, feedback weighing, product-contact materials, and cleaning method should drive configuration.
