YOKO-J-H
YOKO-J-H is a model family for automatic filling of hard capsules with powder or granules. Nine reference configurations span 12,000 to 228,000 capsules per hour and support capsule sizes 00 through 4. Model selection should be based on formulation behaviour, target dose, capsule shell, sustained output, cleaning approach, and the required upstream and downstream interfaces rather than nominal speed alone.
Equipment purpose
This series is intended to automate capsule orientation, separation, dosing, closing, reject handling, and finished-capsule discharge. It suits pharmaceutical and nutraceutical projects that need a repeatable hard-capsule process with a model range broad enough for pilot, medium-output, and higher-output production.
Operating sequence
Empty capsules are transferred into indexed tooling, where caps and bodies are separated under vacuum. The body passes the configured dosing station for powder or granules, after which the machine removes nonconforming units, joins the cap and body, and discharges the locked capsule. Output, dose consistency, and reject rate depend on the selected model, formulation flow, bulk density, tooling condition, vacuum, and operating settings.

Selection questions
Start with the sustained output required after normal stops, not the highest catalogue speed. Then confirm capsule size, target fill weight, powder or granule properties, acceptable variation, cleaning frequency, available vacuum and compressed air, and the space for upstream feeding and downstream polishing or inspection. These inputs determine whether a smaller or larger indexed model is appropriate.
No catalogue capacity applies to every formulation. Low bulk density, poor flow, electrostatic behaviour, high dust generation, cohesive ingredients, or a narrow dose tolerance can reduce stable output. A representative material trial is the appropriate way to confirm dosing behaviour, capsule separation, reject rate, and the sustained speed for a specific formulation.
The published range covers hard-capsule sizes 00 through 4. Gelatin and HPMC shells may behave differently during separation and closing, so the shell supplier, size, moisture condition, and locking geometry should be identified before tooling approval. Each capsule size requires matching moulds and change parts.
Define the capsule shell, fill material or agreed placebo, target dose, sample quantity, run duration, speed range, fill-weight sampling plan, visual defect criteria, reject checks, alarms, cleaning demonstration, and required records before the test. The protocol should distinguish catalogue references from the acceptance values agreed for the configured machine.
Yes, but the interface must be reviewed as part of the supplied scope. Transfer height, capsule discharge, buffer capacity, control signals, extraction, capsule polisher, inspection system, metal detector, and collection or packaging equipment should be defined together so that the connected line is balanced around sustained output.
