The system removes water from a frozen product by sublimation under vacuum and completes secondary drying at controlled shelf conditions. Operating sequence

Working principle

Product is loaded onto temperature-controlled shelves and frozen according to the developed cycle. Chamber pressure is reduced so ice sublimes during primary drying while shelf heat supplies the latent energy; secondary drying then reduces bound moisture under a different temperature and pressure profile. Product temperature, shelf temperature, chamber pressure, condenser capacity, heat transfer, fill depth, and resistance through the dried cake determine cycle behaviour.

How should shelf area be converted into batch capacity?

Use the actual vial outer diameter, loading clearance, tray or loading pattern, number of usable shelves, fill volume, and any excluded edge area. Shelf area alone cannot determine saleable units per batch. The proposed loading map should be reviewed together with the cycle and stopper-closing arrangement.

Does a CIP or SIP label define the complete cleaning and sterilization scope?

No. The scope should identify which chamber, condenser, piping, filters, valves, sensors, and drains are included; the cleaning media, clean-steam quality, cycle parameters, spray coverage, condensate handling, and documentation must also be defined. A model suffix is not a substitute for an approved process description.

Which product data is needed to size YOKO-FDG-B?

Provide formulation type, container and stopper, fill volume and depth, initial concentration, target residual moisture, freezing behaviour, proposed loading pattern, batch size, target cycle time, maximum product temperature, existing development data, room classification, and utility conditions. Electrical supply, cooling water or other heat-rejection service, refrigeration conditions, compressed air, vacuum exhaust, clean steam and water where applicable, drainage, HVAC classification, and loading logistics all affect installation. Their available temperature, pressure, flow, and quality should be confirmed before final design.
