YOKO-FDG-B
YOKO-FDG-B is a pharmaceutical freeze-dryer family with reference shelf areas from 1 to 51 m² and configurations listing up to 17 operating shelf layers plus an additional shelf. The catalogue includes CIP- and SIP-identified variants for selected sizes. Final selection must connect vial or bulk format, fill depth, formulation, freezing method, condenser and vacuum performance, loading pattern, cycle development, utilities, closure handling, and the intended qualification scope.
Equipment purpose
The system removes water from a frozen product by sublimation under vacuum and completes secondary drying at controlled shelf conditions. It is intended for pharmaceutical, biological, diagnostic, and other validated applications where product stability requires low-temperature dehydration and controlled residual moisture.
Operating sequence
Product is loaded onto temperature-controlled shelves and frozen according to the developed cycle. Chamber pressure is reduced so ice sublimes during primary drying while shelf heat supplies the latent energy; secondary drying then reduces bound moisture under a different temperature and pressure profile. Product temperature, shelf temperature, chamber pressure, condenser capacity, heat transfer, fill depth, and resistance through the dried cake determine cycle behaviour.

Use the actual vial outer diameter, loading clearance, tray or loading pattern, number of usable shelves, fill volume, and any excluded edge area. Shelf area alone cannot determine saleable units per batch. The proposed loading map should be reviewed together with the cycle and stopper-closing arrangement.
No. The scope should identify which chamber, condenser, piping, filters, valves, sensors, and drains are included; the cleaning media, clean-steam quality, cycle parameters, spray coverage, condensate handling, and documentation must also be defined. A model suffix is not a substitute for an approved process description.
Provide formulation type, container and stopper, fill volume and depth, initial concentration, target residual moisture, freezing behaviour, proposed loading pattern, batch size, target cycle time, maximum product temperature, existing development data, room classification, and utility conditions. Heat-load and condenser assumptions should remain traceable.
The FAT can verify mechanical completion, controls, alarms, recipes, sensor checks, shelf-temperature behaviour, vacuum performance, condenser operation, leak-rate testing, hydraulic or stopper functions, and configured cleaning or sterilization sequences. Product-cycle performance requires an agreed load and protocol and may continue during site qualification.
Electrical supply, cooling water or other heat-rejection service, refrigeration conditions, compressed air, vacuum exhaust, clean steam and water where applicable, drainage, HVAC classification, and loading logistics all affect installation. Their available temperature, pressure, flow, and quality should be confirmed before final design.
