YOKO-GB-A
YOKO-GB-A is a compact tablet film-coating family with 3, 5, and 10 kg batch references. Drum-speed ranges extend to 24 rpm on the smaller configurations and 21 rpm on the 10 kg model. The series is suited to development and small-batch coating work where coating uniformity, spray conditions, inlet-air treatment, exhaust, product temperature, cleaning, and recipe transfer must be reviewed together.
Equipment purpose
The machine applies an atomized coating suspension or solution to moving tablets while conditioned air supports drying. It is intended for film-coating development, clinical or pilot batches, small commercial batches, and process work that benefits from a contained rotating pan rather than an open coating vessel.
Operating sequence
Tablets tumble in a perforated or configured coating drum while spray guns deliver the coating liquid across the moving bed. Prepared inlet air passes through the tablet mass and removes solvent or water through the exhaust path. Spray rate, atomization, pan speed, airflow, temperature, tablet load, and gun position must remain balanced to avoid overwetting, spray drying, twinning, erosion, colour variation, or incomplete coverage.

Selection questions
Not necessarily. A coating pan needs enough tablet bed movement for mixing and enough free volume for circulation. Tablet density, shape, friability, coating objective, bed depth, and spray area affect the useful working range. Minimum and maximum validated loads should be agreed through trials rather than assumed from the model label.
Provide tablet dimensions and weight, batch size, coating type, solvent system, target weight gain, expected coating time, inlet-air conditions, exhaust availability, room constraints, cleaning method, and required process records. Safety and emission controls must be defined for any solvent-containing process.
The protocol can track weight gain, colour or appearance variation, defects, tablet temperature, inlet and exhaust conditions, spray rate, atomization pressure, pan speed, and sampling time. The agreed acceptance method should reflect the actual coating objective; visual appearance alone may be insufficient for a functional coat.
A recipe can provide a starting point, but scale-up should account for bed depth, mixing pattern, spray-zone coverage, drying capacity, gun-to-bed distance, atomization, and tablet exposure. Matching only pan speed or coating time can produce a different product result.
Depending on scope, the project may require coating-solution preparation, filtered and conditioned inlet air, exhaust ducting, dust or solvent treatment, compressed air, wash equipment, drainage, and room controls. The quotation should state which systems are included and which remain part of the buyer's facility.
